Throughout my clinical training at notable centers like The Mind Psychological Services & Training, and Mental Illness Awareness & Support Association (MIASA Malaysia) - I have worked with concerns such as, interpersonal conflicts, anxiety, environmental burnout, and suicidal ideation. Additionally, I conduct thorough psychological evaluations, diagnoses, suicide risk assessments, and intervention planning.
While grounded primarily in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), my approach also draws from the philosophy and principles taught in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Existential Psychotherapy, allowing me to tailor individually unique, evidence-based interventions that are suitable for any struggle faced.
I prioritize collaborative therapeutic relationships that enable self-exploration, to improve one’s self-understanding, and help them regain their control and confidence over their thoughts, emotions, and lives. I have worked closely from young adults, to elderly, on a variety of struggles ranging from life transitions, severe depression, chronic anxiety, and suicidal ideation.
Outside of my practice, I also share a deep passion for psychological research. My history in research is the backbone of my clinical work, and my experience includes a Master thesis on Generalized Anxiety Disorder Among Malaysian University Students, research assistantships at The University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA, and the Institute of Medical Research (IMR), Ministry of Health Malaysia. These experiences reflect my love for growing my understanding of the human mind, and they have helped greatly in providing knowledgeable, and well-informed, psychological assessment and interventions.
Together with my research history and clinical training experiences, I possess a selection of abilities that are open to working with individuals of any social backgrounds, and with any srtuggles you may be working through.
I believe that there is a curiosity within each of us. A curiosity to understand ourselves, and why we think, feel, and act the way we do every day. I wish to help you discover that curiosity, and to understand it in a way that allows you to freely choose the life you wish to live. The most important lesson I have been taught in all my years as a student of psychology was that: “Pain is meaningless, until we have learned to see its purpose.”. It's a lesson that has shaped who I am as a person, and as a clinical psychology associate/practitioner - and it's a lesson I wish to help you navigate through too.
