Risk Assessment
Risk Assessment
At Existential, a risk assessment is a careful and supportive process we use to ensure your safety and well-being. It helps us understand whether you may be at risk of harm to yourself or others, and how we can best provide immediate and ongoing support.
During the assessment, our trained counsellors may explore:
- Thoughts or feelings of self-harm or suicide
- Levels of stress, anxiety, or depression
- Possible risks related to substance use or harmful behaviours
- Any environmental or relationship factors that may affect your safety
Why is it important?
- Allows us to identify urgent concerns quickly
- Ensures that you receive the right level of care and protection
- Guides us in creating a safety plan and support system
- Helps prevent crises by providing early intervention
The process is done in a compassionate, confidential, and non-judgmental way. Our goal is not to alarm you, but to make sure you feel supported, understood, and safe — with a clear plan for moving forward.
